A new Netflix Original premieres November 4th, 2016, and it's GOOD!

I had the privilege of attending a Netflix Canada event where not only did I get to watch the first two episodes of The Crown, but also participate in a short Question and Answer session with Jarod Harris and Vanessa Kirby, who star in this exciting new Netflix Original series about Queen Elizabeth II. In the first episode we're introduced to a 25 year old and newlywed Princess Elizabeth, who overnight finds herself Queen of England with all the responsibilities the position and title come with. 

Jarod and Vanessa were delightful ...

Both Jarod Harris, who plays the role of King George VI (Queen Elizabeth II's father) and Vanessa Kirby who plays the role of Princess Margaret (Queen Elizabeth II's sister) had the crowd hanging on their every word as they shared personal stories and insights on everything from the costumes and preparing for their roles, to their personal favourite British Royal. Of course they talked about some of their favourite series they're streaming on Netflix these days. Next we moved on to a delicious meal and cocktails made with Earl Grey Infused Gin, followed by a screening of the first two episodes.

I'm hooked! 
Not surprising since this drama offers viewers stories of life, love and politics, beautiful settings, gorgeous fashion and jewels, and a glimpse of a bared royal bottom just to spice things up. This one is definitely going on my What To Watch List!

Discovering Magic of Music: @Netflix_CA #BeatBugs #streamteam

All you need is love and maybe a couple of Beat Bugs.

Music is the perfect way to show and share that love with your kids! Since our kids were very young we've shared a variety of types and genres of music with our kids. Everything from Kiran Ahluwalia's collection of Ghazals and Punjabi Folk Songs of India to Japanese Monks Playing Drums to the soundtrack from The Big Night. 

There are certain songs (most from the 80's) that my kids associate with being toddlers and car rides with their mom. Many a spontaneous dance off to Mambo Italiano from The Big Night soundtrack have taken place in our livingroom. And who says Green Day isn't perfect breakfast sing-song music? 

There's a magic to music that goes way beyond the melody and lyrics.  
Netflix's new original kids series Beat Bugs is inspired by the music of the Beatles and a wonderful way in which to share with your kids the magic of music. 

Music can create bonds, connections and memorable moments. It can inspire and get creative juices flowing. Music has the power to build confidence, express emotion, and teach empathy and understanding. And music is the perfect way to share a message such as:
"All you need is love" or "There is nothing you can do that can't be done".

What's Good to Watch?

This is a common question and discussion amongst my friends and family. So I thought I'd share movie and show recommendations on Cathy Thinking Out Loud every Wednesday (aka #W2WW). This week I am recommending a new Netflix Original series called Daredevil

I'm normally more of a rom-com type but was outvoted so settled in to Episode 1 of Daredevil with my Hubby and teens. I thoroughly enjoyed this action packed show. Clearly so did everyone else since it has a 5/5 star rating from those who have rated it on Netflix. They were right, it was a great #W2WW choice! I have no idea how closely it follows the comic books, but I am busy watching the other 11 episodes on my own.
