Estylo Stylus Makes Me Happy

After listening to my complaining about "fat fingers" and touch screen issues with my cell phone my son was nice enough to give me an Estylo Stylus.
The Estylo can be used with any capacitive touch screen device. It is made of wood and, is both light weight and comfortable to hold. Note that the Estylo is weighted different than a regular pencil, but found it took me very little time to adjust to this. I definitely have more control and precision with the Estylo than with my fingers, and use it with both my phone and my tablet for doodling, and drawing. I love how it looks and, it comes in a variety of colours. The price of the Estylo is $20 US which is comparable to other styluses. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a carrying case so that it is protected when I put it in my purse.
I think this would make a great addition to any Gift Guide and recommend you check this out for those with "fat finger" issues in your family.

As described by Nyon about the Estylo:
"Estylo is the first and only wooden dual tip magnetic stylus to work on the iPhone, iPad, Android or any touch screen device"

So there you go, I'm Cathy thinking out loud about the Estylo stylus.

Five Reasons the @Belkin #SurgePlus USB Swivel Charger Makes Me Happy

5 Reasons the Belkin SurgePlus USB Swivel Charger Makes Me Happy!

We are a family of four, and we have charging needs!

Phones, tablets, laptops, GPS, cameras, there are just not enough outlets! So we add a powerbar, but depending on the size or shape of the transformer, things don't always fit the way you want them to.... So I whine and complain (because that is my role in this Hubby/Wife relationship) and my Engineer Hubby (total problem solver! - can be both good and bad) brings me this:

PROS:
  • It has three AC outlets and BONUS! 2 USB ports.
  • It swivels so it can be twisted to fit into spaces the way you want it to. It accommodates you rather than your furniture accommodating the charger(s).
  • It is small and great when you travel. I never leave on a trip without at least one. Hotels NEVER have enough outlets and rarely have a USB charging port.
  • We use it with an AC adapter in the car on the road to charge the PSVitas, IPods, etc. making for a happy quiet trip for the parents and kids.
  • The price point is good. They sell in the $25-$30 range. Watch out for sales for an even cheaper price.
CONS:
  • My Husband only bought three
Only after using this did I realize just how great this product is and how something as simple as a really good charger can make day to day life so much easier. So put the Belkin SurgePlus USB Swivel Charger on your wish list! Then lock it down because mine seem to go missing all the time!

The Belkin SurgePlus USB Swivel Charger sells for $29.99. For more information see: Belkin.com

Yep, just me Cathy thinking out loud about SurgePlus.

Kanex Syndee Smart Recharge Station Makes Me Happy

In my house, for every person that lives here there are at least two electronic devices that need to be charged, not including the GPS, and e-readers.

This Mom's issues are:
  • Where do we plug all these devices in so they are charged when we want to use them? Especially the cell phones which I use to in touch with my kids.
  • What do we do about the cord chaos that all the separate charging cords create? We are constantly looking for one cord or another, searching for where it was left last time we charged our devices.
  • How do we contain the charging of these devices to a single spot or room so we know where they are when we need them?
What is a Mom to do? Answer: the Kanex Syndee Smart Recharge Station

Why this has been a good solution for me:
  • All my devices are now charged in a single spot where I can find them
  • The Kanex Syndee allows me to charge 4 devices at the same time.
  • The Kanex Syndee is compact and stacks devices safely charging while conserving space.
  • It completely deals with the cord chaos and comes with Apple certified cables.
  • The Kanex Syndee deals with all my issues.
At $149 the Kanex Syndee is an investment, and I can understand how some might be reluctant to spend that much on a charging station. Now that I have lived with it for several months I think for a busy connected family it is worth the investment. It also makes a perfect gift for Mother's Day, Father's Day, or for a Grad going off to University or College. It even makes a great gift for Grandparents. My Mom, a snowbird, has an iPad, cell phone, GPS, and e-reader. It would be perfect for her at home or to bring along for her three months a year in Florida.

So there you go, I'm Cathy thinking out loud about the Kanex Syndee Smart Charging Station.

The Kanex Syndee comes in either Black or White and can be ordered from www.kanexlive.com /syndee for $149.
