For years my husband and I have used various teas, blended to aid with sleep and relaxation on those occasions when restlessness and insomnia prevent us from getting a good nights sleep. They are effective, but not exactly "my cup of tea", since am a coffee drinker. In order to avoid the insomnia caffeinated drinks trigger I do not drink coffee in the evenings. I know there are some excellent decaffeinated coffees, but none have the calming and sleep-aiding effect of Valerian, like some of the teas available on the market ... until now.
Recently I had the opportunity to try a product called Counting Sheep Coffee for Cathy Thinking Out Loud. It is a Swiss Water Decaffeinated coffee, with organic Valerian root. Valerian is a plant often used as a natural treatment for sleeplessness, and can aid in treating insomnia.
- I found Counting Sheep Coffee to have a nice flavour, and thoroughly enjoyed a post dinner coffee without the sleeplessness side effect that caffeinated beverages have on me.
- I also liked that Counting Sheep Coffee comes in two strengths. Forty Winks and the higher dose Lights Out blend.
- It is available in either pre-ground bags and in K-cup compatible single serving pods, that are comparable in price to other premium coffees. (Pre-ground 12 oz bag starting at $12.99, and Single serve pods 12, 18, or 24 pkg starting at $9.99)
- I have a cup of Counting Sheep Coffee 1-2 hours prior to going to sleep, and find that to be most effective for me.
I would certainly recommend this product to family and friends as an effective and tasty way to aid in getting a good night's rest. If you suffer from occasional sleeplessness, and would like more information about this product be sure to visit Counting Sheep Coffee's website, or Counting Sheep Coffee on Facebook or Counting Sheep Coffee on Twitter.
